Mae Roth Biography: Age, Family, Music and Acting Career

Last updated: October 2026

Mae Roth is an American actress and singer from Los Angeles and New York City. Many readers first heard her name because she is the youngest daughter of Emmy and Tony winner Laurie Metcalf and actor Matt Roth. But she is also building her own path in musical theatre, acting, and original music. This biography explains her age, family, education, and career using only details that could be checked. Where sources disagree, we say so clearly.

Mae Roth Quick Facts

Which Mae Roth Is This Article About?

The name “Mae Roth” belongs to more than one person online. There is a pole vaulter named Mae Roth on the University of Montana track team, and there is a Mae Roth who works as a program manager at Florida State University. This article is about the actress and singer Mae Akins Roth, who is the one most people search for. We assumed this because her name appears on IMDb, Backstage, 54 Below, and in People magazine.

Mae Roth Early Life and Family

Mae was born in California in 2005. Her parents are Laurie Metcalf, known for Roseanne, The Conners, and her Broadway work, and Matt Roth, who also appeared on Roseanne. Her parents later divorced. Sources give different years, so we do not state one here.

Mae is the youngest of four children in her mother’s family. Her half-sister is actress Zoe Perry, who plays Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon. Her brothers are Will and Donovan Roth. According to People magazine, Will married Angela Saggiomo in October 2022, and Mae shared photos from the wedding on Instagram.

Mae grew up close to the entertainment world. In 2017, her mother thanked Mae and Donovan in her Tony Awards speech for letting her do the theatre work she loves. In 2018, Metcalf said she brought Mae to the set of Supergirl, because Mae and her mother were fans of the show.

Mae Roth Age and Birthday: Why Sources Disagree

Mae Roth’s age is one of the most searched details, and it is also one of the most confusing. Some websites say 1995 or 2003. Others say February 3, July 3, or July 5, 2005. These come mostly from low-quality sites that copy each other.

The most reliable sources point to June 3, 2005. IMDb lists that date for Mae, and People magazine also gives June 3, 2005. One IMDb biography page for her mother lists July 3, so a small doubt remains. Based on June 3, 2005, Mae is 21 years old as of October 2026.

Education

Mae attended John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California. According to People, she graduated in May 2023 and shared the news on Instagram. Before that, she announced she would study musical theatre at Marymount Manhattan College in New York. She wrote that she had loved the school since seventh grade.

We could not confirm whether she is still enrolled or has graduated. If a college degree date becomes public, we will update this page.

Mae Roth Career: Acting, Music and Theatre

Mae’s career is still young, but it already has several parts.

Music. Mae released a single called “Here” in 2024. Her official bios say the song comes from her wish to understand her thoughts about love, whether romantic, platonic, or the love people notice around them. According to the music-data site Chartmetric, the song had about 10,200 streams on Spotify when the page was last refreshed in June 2026. That is a small number, and it shows she is at an early stage as a recording artist. Chartmetric’s artist description also calls her a queer singer and actress, which matches the way her profile is written.

Acting. IMDb lists her as an actress, and its “known for” credit is Butterface. We could not find detailed cast or release information for that project, so we do not describe it further. IMDb trivia also says she appeared in the background of a bar scene in the season 7 premiere of The Conners, standing between her mother and her sister. That is a user-contributed note, so treat it with some care.

Theatre. Mae has a profile on Backstage as a singer and actor. In it, she describes producing and performing in a licensed production of the children’s show Solve It Squad, where she played Gwen. She also helped with choreography, the playbill, posters, set design, and props. The page does not give a date for this production. Her name also appears on the performer page of 54 Below, a New York cabaret venue. That page lists a March 4, 2026 show called Goin’ Back to Black Box: A StarKid Tribute. It also lists a September 16, 2026 show, Good 4 U, Babe!: The Discography of Dan Nigro. That date has now passed, and we could not find a review or report to confirm how it went.

Mae Roth Life Story: Timeline

Public Appearances

Most of Mae’s earlier public photos come from events she attended with her family. These include the 2018 Miscast gala that honored her mother, the 2019 Tony Awards, and her mother’s induction into the Theater Hall of Fame in July 2023. Since then, she has started to appear under her own name in New York music and theatre events, which is a different kind of attention from family red carpets.

Net Worth and Personal Life

No reliable source gives Mae Roth’s net worth. Some websites guess, but they offer no proof, so we do not repeat a number. Any figure you see for 2026 should be treated as an estimate at best.

Mae shares glimpses of family events on Instagram, but she keeps most of her private life private. We found no confirmed public information about her relationships, and we do not guess about them.

Latest Update for 2026

As of October 2026, the clearest signs of her current work are her March 2026 appearance at 54 Below and the September 2026 listing there. Her song “Here” is still available on major streaming platforms. We found no major news stories, awards, or large film or TV roles for her in 2026. Some websites claim she has no career at all, but her IMDb, Backstage, YouTube, and 54 Below profiles show that is not accurate.

How This Was Researched

I researched this biography using People magazine’s family coverage, IMDb and Backstage profiles, a 54 Below performer page, Spotify, YouTube, and music-data pages. I also read many popular “biography” websites and found that they often disagree about her birth date, and some claim she has no career. Where facts were unclear, such as her birth date, college status, and parents’ divorce year, I marked them as unconfirmed. This article tries to fill the gap by checking her age properly and listing her real, verifiable work.

Accuracy Note

This biography is based on publicly available information, including major media coverage and official artist and performer profiles. Mae Roth is a young public figure and her details may change quickly. If you spot anything outdated or incorrect, please let us know so we can update it.
